Able Software has recently added new user options for working with the Utility Star Platinum Usage History tab. Since utility system users typically need to access customer usage history on a frequent basis, these new options should come in handy.
Previously, various usage charge options were required to have individual revenue codes assigned to the various usage charge amounts in order to be displayed as separate fees. This somewhat limited what type of information could be displayed within the UTP usage history tab when multiple usage charge fees utilized the same revenue code. The UTP Usage History Tab now includes convenient options allowing users to select which individual charges are to be displayed. This means usage history fees for “USAGE CHARGE”, “BASE AMOUNT”, “SURCHARGE AMOUNT”, “SURCHARGE ADJUSTMENT” and other information may be displayed under the Usage History Tab, regardless of whether they use the same revenue code or not.
Here is how you access the "Usage History" information within UTP.
1. Utility Star Platinum should be updated to version 9.9.044 or higher, in order to utilize this functionality.
2. The original rule “HUsageChrg” in “Company Maintenance > Other Rules” has been removed.
3. A new rule has been added to the RMM (Rule Management Module), which can be found in “Company > Rule Management > Meter” category. The new rule name is “Usage History Charge Display Options”.
Base Amount: This refers to the flat rate “Base Amount” field in the usage rate configuration screen.
Surcharge Amount: This refers to the flat rate “Surcharge Amount” field in the usage rate configuration screen.
Surcharge Adjustment: This refers to charges from the “Surcharge Adjustment” screen.
4. Please note if the company rule “SurchargeMeterID” is set to 1, then “Surcharge Adjustment” will always be included, regardless of the setting for “Usage History Charges Display”.
